The food is pretty good, but the live music is what makes it great. The service is also phenomenal.
The atmosphere and food was great!! Will for sure be back! We sat at the bar and the service was spot on.
A large group of us visited Lady May for brunch. We had reservations, so upon arrival, our seating was ready. It was a large group of us so they had us split into two tables. Brannon was our waiter and he was awesome. He was patient, proficient, and helpful. Some people get overwhelmed by large groups, but he handled our large party with ease. We all ordered a variety of food and drinks. The food and drinks came out pretty quickly after we ordered. Majority of the people enjoyed their food and the drinks were definitely a crowd pleaser. Overall, we had an amazing dining experience and Brannon made it all worthwhile! If you're in the area, be sure to check out Lady May and ask for Brannon!
Is it bad that we eat here on a weekly basis? This little gem is one of the reasons that we were so drawn to Ocean Springs. My husband loves their bacon jam burgers and fried chicken plate. I love basically everything - their burgers, flatbreads, salads- especially the mango sriracha salad. Ordering their snack board pimiento cheese board, and the pepper jelly and bacon jam board are absolute musts! The shoestring fries are so incredibly good! The servers and bartenders are friendly and know the menu well. It can get a bit warm and humid in there during the summer months, but it is to be expected as they have doors that open up to their courtyard.
I sat at the bar twice and had very different experiences. A younger man was the bartender the first time and was quite lovely. We had a great conversation - he seemed as though he was genuinely interested in getting to know the patrons. The second time I was barely served by a young woman with tattoos. It took her nearly 15 minutes to acknowledge I was there and when she finally approached me she said "what's up" in a tone like she meant to say "what do you want?" It wasn't an expression of hello, it was very much why are you bothering me. After that the only reason she gave me any attention is because I happened to be sitting next to two locals (who arrived halfway through). Now to the food...I ordered the crab cakes and they were excellent!!! I saw one review about not having enough crab, which is preposterous. The entire thing is crab meat. I wasn't as impressed with the biscuit (I read reviews saying how delicious it is, but that wasn't my experience). I highly recommend the crab cakes! I also had the tuna salad. It was good. Although not as tasty as the crab cakes.
Came back a second time and ordered the crawfish Monica, a Belgian waffle, a side salad and the honey chicken entree. The Belgian waffle was amazing!!! So good! I keep thinking about it, I will definitely come again for waffles! Honey chicken was really good, the Mac and cheese wasn't bad but is my least favorite item I've tried there. Honestly this is our new favorite restaurant along the gulf coast! It's great quality, not at all pricey and such a nice casual place!
I don't know what has taken me so long to write a review of this fine establishment, but today I have decided to give it a go. You see, I learned of this place from my wife, who has recently been researching where are the restaurants that prepare their meals in the healthiest manner. Part of what she has discovered is that all seed oils are detrimental to the health of the consumer, and she has decided to avoid such places as much as possible. An alternative to cooking with seed oils is tallow, and she discovered through her research is that the Lady May prepares their meals with tallow. As a result of learning this we soon arranged for a drive to Oceans Springs to give them a try. I can report that neither of us were disappointed. Upon arrival for brunch, about 11:00 AM, we discovered that we had about a 45 minute wait for a table. Deciding that this wait, although long, was acceptable, we shopped their retail goods. There is a small area at the front of the restaurant where they have on display consumer products that they produce themselves, and we milled about this area, reviewing their products while we waited. My wife availed herself with the opportunity t buy a jar of their whipped tallow during this time. When we were finally directed to our table, and a menu was placed in front of me, I quickly noted near the top an item called The Waffle Board. Curious as to what this was, and because I love pancakes and waffles, I ordered it without much further review of the other items. Let me assure you, it was awesome. The amount of food served on top of what looked to be a regular cutting board was nearly, at first glance, overwhelming, but I resolved to attack the challenge and managed to devoir it all. I was blown away by the waffle, which was lite and fluffy as if made from an angel food cake mix. I'm a sucker for bread pudding, and I usually will try it anywhere I see it on a menu. Despite being stuffed from eating the Waffle Board, I ordered it too, and shared it with my wife, who although not as much of a fan, admitted that it was quite good. Since our first visit, I have returned to the Lady May at least twice. My only complaint about the food served here is with the coffee, which seemed weak and tasteless, their iced tea, likewise nothing to depend upon if one needs to slake a thirst, and their shoestring fries, are not much to get excited about. Overall, there is much delicious food to enjoy on the Lady May's menu, especially their brunch menu, and I highly recommend that everyone interested give them a try.
What a great find . Busy street lined with small mom and pops. Good reviews so took a shot. Very happy we did . Great and friendly service from all staff. Amazingly good crab cakes over pasta. Wife had white bbq chicken sandwich with great shoestring fries. Everything was delicious and we even bought some tallow from their little tallow shop as we are big proponents of tallow. Very reasonably priced for top quality product.
Biscuits and jam 8/10 Biscuits were really good on their own! Not sure about the whipped honey butter. I didn't really taste it, it was fully melted on top by the time they came to our table. Strawberry jelly was good, super fresh tasting. Blueberry jalapeño it was ok. I didn't put too much cause I'm not a blueberry fan, but wanted to try it. Didnt taste too much heat. Mango habanero, This one was a little spicy. Not a whole lot though, but I could definitely taste the heat. Avocado Chicken salad 9/10 Salad was huge and really good! everything was super fresh tasting and had good flavors. It was difficult to mix in the dressing and eat it because the chicken was in pretty large slices (cut like a lunch meat), and on the top of the bowl. You had to cut it up before you could mix the dressing in or eat anything. I do not remember seeing or tasting any bacon though. The honey lime vinaigrette was delicious and they gave you the perfect amount to cover the entire salad. They also have a local shop with homemade jellies, jams, honey, etc. inside. Super cute! A great place for my first time in town!
